As of December 2018, thirty-six states covered all seven FDA-approved cessation medications for all traditional Medicaid enrollees, up from 20 states in December 2008.However, some states may restrict the length of time that are covered, and also limit use of certain prescription medications. You can check with your Medicaid formulary to see what is covered in your state.
