This video demonstrates how to administer (a long-acting injectable) medication into the deltoid site (or triangular-shaped deltoid muscle in upper arm).
Once injection site landmarks (as demonstrated) are established, the needle should be inserted at a 90-degree angle into the skin targeting the underlying muscle.
This video also demonstrates the Z-track and aspiration methods of injection administration (recommended for certain medications).
